1. Two-Way Radio Comparison

2. Determine if you need a license
In the personal radios services, only the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) requires a license. FRS, MURS and CB Radio, which have limitations on range and power output, don't require a license.

3. Get More Information
Use the links on this page and other sources to gather more information about the two-way radio equipment you will be using. Find out about the FCC regulations that apply to your radios and the correct procedures for using them.
4. Purchase the Equipment
Once you have made an informed decision, purchase the equipment you selected. Make sure it has the functions you need and is also certified by the FCC for the radio service you will be using. (Part 90, 95, 80, etc.) If you are not sure, ask your supplier. See below for links to two-way radio dealers.
